I was wondering what springs I could get to lower my car to fill up the gap betwwen the wheels and fender. It's an 87 with 96 spindles and svo rear end. I have 94 tri-bars with 235/40 tires because they would rub on the fender if they were bigger. Ever since I took the svo control arms off the front and replaced them with the 87 and up arms with new balljoints and the works, the front end sits up higher. It has the svo springs but the svo arm spring perch is about an inch deeper than the 87 arm, thats why it sits up higher. I just want it a little bit lower.

I would suggest the Ford B or C springs. This would provide new springs and probably the best handling upgrade.

For a four cyl car, you will probably need to cut them a bit to get it lowered.

The cheapest would be to just get another set of stock four cylinder springs and cut them. Cut a half coil, install and check them, then if you need more, cut another quarter of a coil, etc.

I did this with 4 cyl springs to my 5.0 toy, and it came out ok, a bit low in front if anything. To me, it rides and drives great, with cut 4 cyl springs.

im not a big fan of cutting springs.

The eibach Prokit springs, are a progressive rate lowering spring, and are specificly made for 2.3L mustangs. That would be ur best bet.

I have the "C" springs on my 2.3 notch. It really tightened up the handling along with the GT sway bars. Rode stiff as all **** when I first installed them but they have settled in nicely and its OK now. Great upgrade for the price but the car definately doesnt look lowered. If I were to do it again I would probably trim them a bit. Also not generally a big fan of cutting springs but I have done it the past with no ill effect. Just dont go too far. Only problem with trimming is that the more you trim the stiffer they get.

The applications say its for the svo's along with four cylinder cars. Since the svo's are already factory lowered, will the four cyl. springs lower it another inch, because my car is not an SVO. Does anyone have pics of an 87-93 four cyl. lowered?
