So I had my clutch replaced by ford about 2 months ago, and from day 1 it would make a sound every time I shifted while under more than 1/4 throttle. I took it back to them and it took them 5 days to fix it, ridiculous. They said the fingers on the clutch were broken, and they replaced the pressure plate and lubed up everything. I picked it up today and talked to someone and the service guy said he drove it for like 20 mins and heard nothing. So I leave and on the second shift I do, is squeaks again.... I don't know what to say to these people, are they retarded?? I had this sound happen on my integra when the clutch was at the end of its life, but after it was replaced I never heard it again. Anyone else run into this problem??

I thought it was a throwout bearing, but they didnt mention it. Said they needed to replace the pressure plate which doesnt make sense to me, shouldnt that have been brand new when they replaced the clutch?

I was just thinking that since you said that they told you the clutch fingers were broken ... If that is/was the case then your TBearing was most likely shot.

What sound exactly is it making and when?

It's a squeaking noise when I push the clutch in to change gears while under more than 1/4 throttle, and gets worse the warmer the engine gets. It is super annoying and embarrassing too. That bearing should be new when they replaced the clutch and charged me over 1k to do it, right??

Holy bajeebus!!! $1k for a clutch install????

I was able to install a new SPEC Stage 1 clutch kit w/new billet steel flywheel AND an MGW shifter for about $650.

Anyway, yes they should have replaced the TOB as it comes with the clutch kit.

Yea, a little extreme, but I drive a lot and wanted the 1 yr warranty that came with everything for this specific reason, so if they replaced the TOB then why would it still be squeaking?? Nobody else has had this problem?? The car has 91k on it, but I dont know what else it could be. That and I can feel it in the pedal, at the end of the swing..i guess..just like the last inch. So I know it's something in the clutch assembly area.

I would check the actual cabling to where it runs up thru the firewall, adjuster and all. Make sure that there are no binds in the cable to cause such a problem.

I also had a noise in my trans. It ended up being the throwout bearing. I replaced the pilot bearing (big mistake without the proper tools) while I was in there also. The dealer should have replaced the T/O bearing with the clutch, common practice. If the fingers where broken, I would think you would have clutch engagement/grinding issues.
