The Steeda UD pulleys were put on yesterday and my belt started squeaking this morning all of a sudden. Is this normal with aftermarket pulleys?
i also have trouble with belt squeek after steeda pulley's. i thought it was the tensioner so i replaced it, then the idler pulley, still didnt help, so i put on a new belt and that fixed it. then a couple months later it started doing it again. put some belt conditioner on it and it went away but comes back every now and then and i put on some more conditioner and its good to go for a while.
I think he was on drugs.fobra559:
I have not had a problem with noise and the Steeda pulleys. Squeals and squeaks can come from many places: alternator, water pump, A/C clutch, tensioner, idler, steering pump,...
Pop open the hood and use a piece of Tygon tubing held up to your ear at one end and then find the squeak/squeal by moving the open end around the path of the belt. Be VERY careful when doing this or you'll get chewed up in the belt. If you just pop the hood and lean over to listen, you can't pinpoint the exact spot. With the tubing, you WILL find the spot.
HTH,

p.s.-- I quite enjoy that photo in your sig! LOL

So you didn't try a new OEM belt first. The Steeda UDPs work with the stock belt. I replaced my old OEM with a new OEM belt. Never had an issue.
With the new shorter size belt, the squeaks don't come up any more. I'm still keeping my new OEM belt just in case
