Hey guys, I have an '01 convt gt upgraded from a 96 v6.
Best trade I made.
However I have this squeaking noise everytime i drive through the city streets.
I tried bouncing the car at the corners to see if its the shocks but could not replicate the noise. Took it back to the dealer and they had the tie rods replaced but still have that noise.
Any suggestions from your exp as to what could cause the squeaking during driving?
thx

I have noticed something that sounds similar to what your are describing on my '02 GT, but I only hear it on bumpy areas of road. I have wondered but did not thinkit was anything too serious.

Bushings makes sense. Short of replacing the bushings is there anything to quiet the squeak?

thats exactly when it happens. when i hit bumpy section of the road.
my question is, aren't bushings made of rubber. how would that cause a squeak?
or am i missing something?

also, brake pins would cause squeak??
please clarify
thx

The dealer didnt clarify it with me. I know that it was in the shop for 3 days and could not find the noise. I took it home and 1 week later I took it back and they had another one in the shop doing the thing. They found that it was the brake pins (or so they told me).
It would only make the noise when I hit a bump or made a sharp turn. It sounded like a bird cherp and like to drive nuts. In the last few weeks it has started again. I will keep you posted to let you know what they say.
