My ball joints are squeaking, so im going to replace them. Should I just go with ones from auto-zone or get the steedas. Steeda will only cost like $20 more I think. I have plans on lowering my car in the future and steeda says that thiers work well on lowered cars. Which ones should I go with?

Might as well get the X2's if your going to lower it. Hope your able to get a decent quote for the install though - the best I found was around $300. I'd rather replace the whole control arm for that price.

thats what i did, i replaced with the 03/04 cobra front control arm with balljoints installed. cost me @ 140 at www.johnbleakleyford.com and has a 10% better steering radius then GT..a noticable difference in turning.

cool, I was wondering if you could actually tell the difference in radius. Any difference in handling?

when i did the install i also did springs/shocks/rear uca-lca so the handling was night and day to stock. But there is a place i used to make a K turn at and now can make it without doing the K.So the steering is much improved. Also my buddy who's a ford tech drove it and did some complete circles in a big parking lot and was impressed with the feel.

how hard is the instal? I have changed ball joints on trucks before and doenst seem like it could be very hard. Dont see how it could be worth $300. Mine is a cobra so I wonder if my turning radius is the same as your gt or the new cobras you used ball joints from?

the install was easy just a bolt in.....ball joints were already pressed in, and i think only the new cobras came with the revised control arm geometry. If you have an older cobra most likely the control arms are the same as the gt. but for 137.50 it was cost effective to swap the whole thing since i was gonna have everything apart for the springs etc.
