Once about every two weeks I have to re-lube my door hinges because they'll make an awful squeek when I open the doors. They don't look rusty or anything, is there a particular type of grease I should use on these that'll last more than 2 weeks? I'm just using an all-purpose lube on them now, but I think I heard lithium works good on these, can anyone confrim this?
Nothing worse than pulling up into a parking lot with a head-turning shiny-ass mustang and the door squeeks like an old rust bucket when I open the door :nonono:

I've had problems with the round plastic thing in the mechanism and not the actual hinge itself. It's has made all kinds of clicking, snapping, and creaking noises. I noticed it had some pretty well defined ridges and bumps in it. I used sand paper and smoothed it out a bit. That seemed to help a lot. I haven't really had a problem since.

I don't think it comes apart. When you hold the door completely open though, you can spin it around. I just would spin it till I hit a bump and then smooth it out. Then I would spin it a little more till I smoothed it all out. Just don't take off too much though because that little ball is part of what keeps the door locked open too. If you take too much off it won't stay open all the way on it's own as well.
