I have the Stainless Steel Brakes drum to disc conversion kit on my '65. It includes 4-piston calipers that are similar in appearance to the Kelsey-Hayes units that Ford used. I want to get some more aggressive pads from EBC Brakes (www.ebcbrakes.com). They might look like this:

EBC catalogs by OE application only, i.e., they don't list replacements for SSBC calipers. So I need to know if the SSBC caliper uses the same pads as the OE Kelsey-Hayes caliper.

A call to SSBC would solve this issue.
That said, yes they are the same, just an aluminum casting.

that's on the higher dollar systems, they also make a cast iron caliper that is built on the same architecture as the originals but they are a little bit different, still cast iron though.
