No matter how hard I pull on it, I can't seem to lock up the rear tires on dry pavement. Every other car I've ever owned was capable of locking up the rear tires with the e-brake. It does slow the car, but just barely.
What's the P/N on the SSBC kit? Isn't it just SVO front brakes with the 91-92 Mark 7 rear disk setup?
That kit is just a pair of SVO front rotors, and a redrilled t-bird/93 cobra rear disk setup.
Since you said you wanted a better selection of wheels, i wouldn't go this route. The SVO rotor does not allow a lot of wheels to bolt up due to the large hub.
But for $1100, you could put yourself together a nice Sn95 setup.
It's not going to..ever. Maybe te stock drum brake setup would cause the rear wheels to lock, but Sn95 disks won't.
Every SN95 i've driven (near new) will not lock the rear wheels if you yank it while driving. In fact, it BARELY slows the car down at all. But at a dead stop on a steep hill, it will hold the car very well.
My '03 GT did the same thing. I used to park it on steep hills and forget to put it in gear and it would be fine for 1-2 days til i realized what I did...but if i yanked it up while driving, it would barely slow the car down.
My Fox is like that too...will hold the car fine, but barely makes a dent. In fact, i've driven off with the ebrake on because i don't even notice it really.
Does that $1100 include the front and rear discs and 5 lug. if so what do i need?
One of you guys should put together a nice, complete parts list with pictures and details of needed bracket modifications ect.
For newbie mustang owners like me that really have no clue on which route to go to save money and avoid some of these problems that some are having.

Uhm i think just about every has done that already, there are about 10 different people that ave done the swap on here, 3 different web sites that have a full list with 5 different options for 5 lug brake setups, google and the search function is your friend
+1, and not only that, but EVERY car and EVERY combination requires a different list of parts and different modifications. Not to be UNhelpful here, but you kinda just have to research it and decide for yourself what you want to do.

I personally have done some searching and reading on the subject, although I'm lacking alittle info about rear disc parts.
I was just suggesting that it would be a good idea to update the brake conversion thread (in useful technical thread index) or make a newer more complete thread/list than is there now as a sticky. So it is easy to find info and maybe stop some of these repetitive questions.
