yes pound for pound. I do know that. Did you realize that the aluminum block would have to be alot beefier than the steel one if they weighed the same. Pound for pound the aluminum takes up more space. 1 pound of aluminum takes up more space than 1 pound of iron. There is only so much room in that engine bay. They only made those mod motors aluminum to save weight and hopefully gas. They went to iron blocks because they knew the same design in aluminum couldn't handle it.
