O.K. guys, I have some numbers, but let me tell you that I am very dissapointed. One thing or another seemed to go wrong on every run.


RUN# 60' 1/4 Mile Trap Speed

1 1.796 12.793 112.51
2 1.923 12.310 109.96
3 1.784 12.233 93.07
4 1.736 11.857 115.83


Runs # 1 and 2 I had my shift light set to high, and I think I kept hitting the rev limiter because it kept "dying" between shifts.

Run # 3 I adjusted my shift light, and the run was going very smooth, but when I went to slam fourth gear, I nailed second instead :nonono:

Run # 4, although it is a new best for me, could have been a lot better. The run started off bad when my car stalled in the burnout box. I started it up again and tried for another burnout, but again the engine bogged on me and the car stalled again. I thing maybe the burnout box girl did not back me into the water far enough, so I was doing a dry burnout :shrug: anyways, at this point I was so embarrassed, I just went to the staging light with COLD F'N TIRES!! :nonono: I got a nice launch on this run, but spun all the way through 1st gear, but once I hit second it grabbed really nice. I think this run would have been at 120+mph, and low 11's if I would have had traction in first gear, but I guess I will have to go back and find out.

All in all Epping kicked my a$$ yesterday, but when you come home with a new best, I guess I cant really complain too much. Too bad the rest of the boys could not have made it, we all had a great time, and it was nice to see everyone.

PS- I spent $12 at Burger King on just myself :D

Hey Mike, nice last run. You still pulled a 1.7 60'. You may have gotten out of the groove(good rubber) when you were in second. Also Trap speeds usually don't change much, even when the ET is all over the place. So, I would be very suprised if you could get over 120mph the way she sits now. Even with a good run. I used to run 107 mph all day long and my ET ranged from 13.4's to 12.7's. Remember, they call it Trap speed, that means how fast you cover the last 66 feet of the track. I think if you pratice more you will get better. You really need to learn how to shift faster, that will help you out alot. I really doubt you'll pull better 60's, maybe unless you put slicks on. So, I would say work with shift points and shifting. Some different gearing will also help. Like 4.10's, then you will see low 11's and 120+mph.

I hate to disagree with you, but if you are spinning through a gear, you are going to lose MPH, and ET. I know this thing can trap at over 120, I just need to prove it. Last year I trapped at 118 with my eaton, so simple logic says yes, 120+ is possible, and I would put money on it.

Just do what I do. Launch at idle. :D I didn't have to rev my engine up and that stopped me from breaking the tires loose.
It was a great day for me. I went fast and didn't break anything. :cheers:
I still don't know where the 1/4 mile mark was.
Love having a turbo.

Well, I'am not going to get in a pissing match with you, since you have a pile of time slips from previous years of drag racing. :rolleyes: Your missing the concept. It's not how fast your going it's how fast you cover the last 66 feet of the track. Kinda different in a respect. Please explain to me how you trapped 115 with a 12.7 and 118 with a 11.8, they are nearly a second apart from each other. E.T. and MPH don't always coincide, as we all proved yesterday. I ran 122MPH, did I run a low 11?? NO!!! Do you see my point now.
It's like me saying well I didn't get off the line good and I spun a little, so I should trap 130+.. :lol: Mike, just razzin ya, but honestly, get some gears and pratice shifting. You'll do much better.

On another note, I took the Mustang out for a drive this morning and the trans a nice whine to it, in neutral, push in the clutch and it's gone. Shift through the gears and she still makes some whining noises. I geuss she didn't like the traction, still didn't drive it that hard. Maybe if I did I could trap 140+!!! :D

my trans has had a whine for a few years. It only happens when I have been on the highway for a while. Once I slow down and drop it into 3rd while getting off the ramp the whine goes away.
Maybe you need to start saving your pennies for a G Force T5.

From what I've heard, G-Force isn't selling trans anymore.
