I wouldn't let that stuff set for long. I would liberally use the water to make sure you rinsed off all the simple green. Even rinse the stuff you don't think the SG got on because you don't want any damage later. Then try to dry everthing you can with a rag to avoid water spots.

Tell that to trav...he just wipes it off apparently. I give it a good rinse. Also tried gunk degreaser today but still hasn't all come off. Think it's just 7-8 years of build-up? It is especially hard to get scaly stuff off bumpy/ porous surfaces like the plastic cover over the radiator. it still looks alot better than it did.

I just wonder what the film is. Maybe it is just grime and wax buildup. The plastic underneath it looks alot better where it's coming off. Anyway, how do you guys clean your engine bays? I don't think mine has ever been cleaned other than my attempt.

I havent sprayed the engine bay in the cobra yet but with all my other cars I used to wet the bay down, spray the simple green, scrub,then spray to rinse everything off. Ive never had a problem.

On my truck I did the same except I used GUNK engine degreaser. Man that stuff takes all the crap off....

I can testify to that. Sometimes I have had to use more than one can of that stuff though to clean a couple of vehicles that had some major build up of crud. THe stuff smells like kerosene. Boy that brings back fond memories of some crappy older vehicles that I have owned.

I dont use it at 100% I delute it w/ water, I mix it about 40% SG 60% water. I do the same thing w/ Pink Stuff as well.

1. You have to show intest, cant just say...yeah I want to be a member of SSOM and never come to any club meetings or car shows.

2. We have a good group of guys so far and were trying to keep it that way. You have to be somewhat off kilter or you prob wouldent get along w/ us well. Must be able to take jokes, such as Bryan is a raging homosexual but we have learned to accept him.


PS: what are the mods on Your stang and what dyno did you take it to.

PSS: There are no club dues .

Agreed, I do the same thing and never had a problem. I just cver the air filter with a plastic bag and try to stay away from vital parts with direct spray. I only do this with a cold engine.
