I had to pull off my icebox yesterday, as it had been leaking antifreeze on the garage floor. It turned out being the drain plug on the bottom wasn't tightened down enough. Easy fix.

Next I need to turn my attention to my exhaust, as I have an annoying leak. I think it's the passenger side x-pipe to exhaust manifold gasket, as I reused the crappy one that was there, when I should have just replaced the thing. The exhaust is also uneven when you look at it from behind. I was on a crappy road yesterday, and the low part scraped the road a few times.

Mike-

Saturday works out good, I'm going to try and go to the track on friday if it does not rain, right now there is a 40% chance of scattered T-Storms.

if you want I can bring the PS3 up since it shouldnt take to long to throw that cat back on, I'll spray all the bolts down the night before so everything should come off good.. Hopefully we can find out where that stupid PS leak is coming from, Im hoping its just a hose, I hate trying to track down leaks.

BTW- I saw a nice low profile jack that would work great on your car since its so low now, I saw it at Napa for $230 something

Yup, 99% sure it's the brakes. Lifted it and no movement in the bearings, but excessive wear on the rotors and rubbing like the rotor is warped. More so on pass. side but does it on both sides.

CF says to break it in for 500 miles without exceeding 3000 rpm's. As you can imagine, I have not seen WOT or any boost yet this year, so I feel like a crackhead who hasn't had his fix in awhile. I have 150 miles left to go, and then all hell is gonna break loose.

Yeah the spec says 500 miles of CITY driving to break it in. That will suck trying to be carefull that long.

Not a great idea trying to reuse those cheap paper gaskets. There are some out there that are reuseable. Get used to the exhaust scraping, I told you that sucked. The front end of my car sits a little higher now so hopefully the scraping will be less of an issue.

I think I will be replacing the trans this weekend. Might have to go rent a trans jack just so I don't hurt myself.

Have fun with that, transmission install/removal sucks. At last the T5 is not as heavy as the T56

MIKE-

I bought some of that power steering stop leak the other day. I only drove it a few miles yesterday and it still had a small puddle on the garage floor and it dripped a little bit at chris's shop today about the size of a half dollar but since I got home at about 3:00 it has not dripped anything on the floor as of now. Im keeping my fingers crossed that Im going to luck out on this and that the stop leak fixed the issue. I'll call and see tomorrow for when my exhaust is getting here so I'll know for sure if it will get here before the weekend, there is no reason it shouldnt but I want to be sure

You don't need one. Just jack up the car on stands as high as you can on all 4 corners. Then you can slide the trans on your regular jack and jack it into position. I have saturday off, I might be able to give you a hand. I'll know better later in the week.

Oh BTW guys, my car should be on the newstands by the end of the week. I guess they did a big spread. They called me yesterday. Modified Mustangs

I got my flywheel today!!! yeah haaaa!
Took the trans out of the box for the first time. Heavy sucker.
I have a piece of 2x3 box steel that I was thinking of welding to the jack pedastel and putting some shorter pieces of metal angled up from the sides of the 2x3 just to add some stability to the trans as it is being jacked up. Just a little cutting and welding. Also got a slide hammer and pilot bearing puller from Auto Zone so I can yank the bearing while I'm in there. Besides the tools are free rental, gotta love Auto Zone.
The car is already up on jack stands. I think I have everything that I need.
If you want to come over and help saturday then that would be great.
I'll check back in here tomorrow.

Back to my break problem. I can't really tell if the rear breaks are fully releasing. There isn't the excessive wear like the front rotors and the diff. and axles make it hard to hear any scraping like was clear on the front. Any other way to tell? Also, if it just my front brakes not releasing, what do you guys think it would be? The MC or proporting valve or other?
