ssp car???

I don't believe that ssps got an aluminum driveshaft. I know that mine does not have one and I don't know why anyone would go from aluminum to steel.

They had heavier duty seat backs, the earlier models had reinforcing plates at the seat mounts on the floor pan. Ford later incorporated that into all production cars.
Bigger alternator with an external regulator, I believe that it is called a "Lesco" not sure on the spelling.
The silicone hi miler blue heater and radiator hoses.
Dome light doens't come on when the doors are opened.

You can check out www.sspmustang.org and get alot more info there.

There IS NO set list of SSP parts....they were ordered by each jurisdiction as they wanted them, so just because one car has X part than it doesn't mean another should have X part.

They did NOT come with aluminum shafts though....none of them.

You can learn all you need to know about SSP Mustangs here.

There were quite a few options available for SSPs, but these were the standard SSP differences.

140 or 160 mph (depending on year) "certified calibration" speedo.

Relocated trunk release.

Reinforced floor pan.

Reinforced seat backs.

Full size spare.

Heavy-duty, rear control arms.
