I found someone local to install cams, but they dont have a dyno. Do i have to tune immediately with stage 1's or can i wait to take it up to someone with a dyno and just not drive it wot? also, where can i get vt cams, i saw that mustangtuning.com is sold out.

How much do you guys think a dyno run/tune should run? i dont want to get overcharged for something because i'm not used to these kinda things. on my other vehicles it was mainly cosmetic stuff done then i got rid of them before i could do motor work.

agreed, but don't forget - you need to buy the handheld tuner first! I was quoted $500 from Dez Racing for a dyno tune b/c I dont have an Xcal or Predator

thats just about what it costs. The handheld tuners are around 300 something alone. Sucks but a good investment.

I have been wondering the same thing... I would try calling around to a few outfits like MPH RPM ect... and see if they have any type of mail order tune that would be close enough to get you by till you find a dyno... At least thats what I was thinking about doing...

how long it take to tune a cams mod?

like when i did my a/f ratio tuning in my old rx-7, we did it with a wideband and made about 10-12 high speed runs on the highway.
