Stall Converter & Shift Kit for Auto GT?

I want my Auto to be able to "bark" on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts... and be able to get off the line fast. What stall converter etc. should I get for a fairly stock GT (exhaust, 3.73's, intake)? Being able to light up the tires off the line would be nice :nice: ABout how much would a shift kit and converter cost, installed?

Thanks guys!

Just curious but can't you break the tires loose in 1 to 2nd already in the auto? Heck, I got a 99 gt auto convertible with 4.10s and the Superchips Microtuner to adjusts the shift points and even I can break the tires lose from 1 to 2nd. May have also do with my other added mods, but from experience i will agree will many other automatic mustang drivers, 4.10 gears and no less!!

Let me know.

Get a Precision Industries stall converter. 3200 stall. Skip the shift kit and get a street/strip valve body. I use a Performance Automatic S/S. Very nice. After you get those in, get a custom tune. You will be VERY pleased.

Converters run about $650, valve bodies about $220. Custom tune = alot. Oh, get some gears, too. 3.73 or 4.10s. Maybe 3.90s.
