My peak tq is 309lbs at 3800RPM. What stall should I go with? I was thinking a 3,000 or 3,200rpm converter. She puts down 293lbs at 3,000rpm and 299lbs at 3,200rpm. From 3,400-5,000RPM she is over 300lbs tq. I know you want the converter to be close to your peak tq but I also want her to still be drivable. I will be also going with a vortech supercharger in about a year.

From what I've heard, you can go as steep as you want. If you have 2nd 3rd and OD locked out on your tune, then it will drive just like stock. 1st gear will remain unlocked, as that's the only gear where you would really benefit from the TC.

if driveabilty is your concern then a 3200 stall would be good

Just emailed them and this is what Bill said.

"the PA45251 Street Strip converter will stall about 2200-2400 (about 800-1000 above your factory converter). Very streetable, will give you a harder launch at the track. Retails for $861.00 plus shipping."

So the stock stall I think is 2100rpm. Does that mean this will stall at 2900-3100rpm?

I had a PI stallion in my car @ 2800, and it was a blast to drive on the street (no 1/4 track time at all). With the TC off, I could break them loose very easily and I had much less HP/TQ than you.

You will want to run a shift kit, keep that in mind. Before I had the Jmod done, the higher stall would makes the trans feel sloppy and would take a bit to shift. After the jmod, it drove far better than stock even with the higher stall.

So then maybe a 3000 stall would be a better option then a 3200 for me. I will also do the Jmod.
