So, when I start my car up it'll idle for five seconds and then the RPM drop and it stalls. Usually on the second time I start it it works fine. If I give it some gas right when it's about to stall it'll keep it from stalling and if the car's already warmed up and I start it it won't stall either. The only thing that's been going bad recently that I need to replace is my alternator but I don't that's it because all the electronics continue to work when it stalls.

Any ideas?

IAC is new. I'll check it again to make sure. When I get a chance I'll check the codes too.

Mines doin the same thing but every time I start it when warm. Mash your brakes and see if it makes a whooshing noise and stays runnin when you start it up next time. Found out my booster is bad and Im hopin that this new one will make it better.

1. Pull codes;
2. Check for vacuum leaks;
3. Remove/check/clean EGR valve;
4. Check TPS voltage;
5. Replace fuel filter (if not done within the past year or two);
6. "other"

See the "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. Everything you need to find and fix idle problems is in there.

The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.

I replaced spark plugs and had my mechanic clean the fuel lines and now the stalling doesn't happen anymore so it was probably one of those two. Thanks for the help guys.
