so i just got my engine swapped out. did it myself with the help of my uncle now i have a question. since the car was dead and couldnt be run, the ebrake was set cuz it was on a hill. now that the car is drivable, the brake light is on and it feels like the ebrake is engaged even though the handle wont unlatch it. also, my brakes have no pressure until almost the floor, where they pick up and catch. any idea? my steering wheel has about 3 inches of play both ways before catching. any ideas there? all help is appreciated. thanks

As far as the brake situation, is your e-brake handle stuck in the on position? I had one of my e-brake cables lock up causing my rear brake to be on constantly, even though the handle is down. Have you blead your brakes? Also mabye check for vacuum leaks by the break booster. As far as your stearing play, if it's not tie rod ends (even if there bad, I wouldnt think you would have that much play.) I'm at a loss. Keep us posted!

Sounds like the e-brake siezed, best bet is to pull the rear drums and attempt to "unstick" everything.

Also that's probably what is causing your brake pedal to go almost to the floor.

I second the siezed e-brake cable, I've had one stick on my '66. As for the steering play, check the rag joint in the steering shaft. Common problem and a cheap fix. Made a world of difference in mine.

hey guys, i just bought a 1987 ford mustang 4 cyl fuel injected 5 spd standard (soon putting in a 5.0 when i get the cash). today i was driving and i noticed that in second and third gear when it gets between 2000 and 2500 rpms it seems to bog out and back fire a little bit until i hit around 3000 rpms then the power comes back... any ideas what this is caused by? it was running great until today. help much appreciated.

cheers, jordan
