okay, Been driving my car around all day and suddenly i go to turn it off, take the key out, and its still running. I've jiggled the key around turned it all the way back and forward again but nothing changed. And it keeps doing it everytime it runs. When i turn the key off the heater blower motor turns off, but the car still runs. Could this be my solenoid, or something with my ignition switch?

The ignition switch is going out. They overheat and sometimes catch fire. That burns up the steering column and sometimes the car interior. The auto parts stores sell the switches for $13-$15.

Saleen0679 was nice enough to dig this up for us awhile back: Replace a 1979-1993 Ignition Switch Assembly

So, the car is running this very second, and the car never ever shuts off?
Maybe it's haunted then?

Or, are you describing dieseling because the timing is screwed up?

Also, other than setting off a 50 million ton thermo-nuclear bomb in the car, then how/when/why does the car actually shut off?

Sounds like the car is all set for ghost riding.

It's your starter solenoid. I had the same problem before so just replace it and you should be okay.

WTF???
The starter relay is used only to engage the starter!

BTW: See here for Stang 5.0 bunch of wiring diagrams:

Did you replace the ignition switch or the lock cylinder?

Is the ignition switch linkage functioning properly?

if the op has a high torque mini starter this is correct. i was having the exact same issue and i replaced the solenoid that's located on the starter and all is well.
