After having to wait a few weeks for proper transportation accomodations we finally got our '69 Mustang in the shop and out of the weather. Doors, trunk, glass and hood will arrive on the next batch. We have had the car a little over a day and I've already started some of the initial body work. In the next few days we'll swap the 8" rear for a 9" and throw on a set of wheels to provide us a rolling chassis to move around the shop.

I forecast a lot of sanding dust to fill the air in the next couple of weeks (now that tons of pine straw are out of the way)

Here she is...

The '67 is Mike's personal project car. He sold his '90 5.0 Coupe for this '67 buildup and has hopes of it being in driving condition this summer. I found the '69 you see here a few weeks ago since I was very interested in a '69 fastback to accompany my '71 and soon to be classic '85 GT

We will actually be working together at restomodding this car and the '67.

Very nice!

Hopefully that straw didn't contribute too much to any rust problems the car may have. Looks like you're making fast progress already.

What are the plans for it?
Big or small block? EFI or carb?
Forced induction or NA?
Auto or stick?
Stock or modified appearance?
Modern 17"+ wheels or vintage look with a dish?

So is this a StangNet car or your personal car?

What's the FE motor on the stand beside the car?

I found a 69 fastback, and a 67 coupe the other day
for 600$ each.

While the specifics are still sketchy right now, we do hope to mix a little modern day with traditional musclecar heritage in our buildup.

The 2 engines you see in the background are a 428 FE (slated for Mike's '67...shhhh) and a 460 big block patiently waiting its turn in the engine bay of my '71

I forecast large credit card bills to follow... I'm pleased to see your project progressing. I think the only thing better than working on my own is watching the progress on others', especially when it I can do it from the comfort of my leather chair and laptop.

Keep up the good work.

Hey Mach, where you been hiding? Hadn't seen u around in a while. You know you are always welcome to come by the shop whenever you or the guys are back in the area.... (I'm sure we can provide everyone a tool or a sander to help out )

Where is the shop? I have a suspicion I live nearby. I could stop by with my '69 Fastback.

San Jose, Cali.

They have a range of old project cars there from Camaro's to VW's back to pinto's lol

all around the same price.
I seen a great thunderbird not really sure what year. very early 60's maybe late 50's. <------ Not really good at dating (year) cars.

They had 5 67's (I can date Mustang's) and a fastback 69.

Sorry for somewhat hijacking the thread. Great job on the project by the way.

Clev357 that would be great! Your '69 would be a great resource to take some digital photos of, which would help us with the reassembly I am sure. Not only that, but seeing a running '69 fastback would be great motivation as well!

We are in Auburn, AL - Take Interstate 85 South, and we are but a few miles off of exit 57/58 (either one will work). Hollar at me, our doors are always open.
