Well beings Vib is closing all the threads whats the point in posting anything. Keeps saying keep it tech theres a lot of ****ing threads started on here that has nothing to do with tech stuff that get left alone. No offense to RC but what does pinewood derby stuff have to do with tech, Pic threads are not tech so there should be none of them either but depending on who post them up depends on if it gets locked or not and thats total BS

Probably get docked more post for this but thats how i feel

Starting bs threads for the soul purpose for gaing "Free post" is what he locking down. Certain members have been on here long enough and have erned the right to ocationally(sp?) post OT threads.

From what I seen, Vib is only trying to "curtail" the "What Happened" kinda chit since the place time warped.....Lets face it...We in the SN side of the forum have a kinda unwritten anything goes forum....I think it works for us and the Mods dont throw the lock on very often...Don't go getting all Butt hurt.....

Thanks Andy and wy. I usually don't lock non-tech threads. We are pretty close in here. Trying to gain posts back by posting meaningless threads is what I'm locking. I also have a sticky that's wide open at the top. Threads about what happened is just clutter.

They are trying their best to speed up the process and rely on the more senior members to follow along. I don't mind that much as there are a few unnecessary threads.

It'll take some time to get back to normal........so I think everyone needs a little patience. I didn't like it at first, but I'm an IT guy and know first hand the trials and troubles with backups and data loss. This has too be frustrating and stressful at an unreal level for the webmaster and admins. We gotta give them a little break, because frankly, this site is far superior than any other stang site I've seen. There are similar sites, but you may have noticed that they are always a step or two behind this site.

I bet this blows over by the end of next week.

I have never seen any threads locked prior to this so I have no complaints. Actually have I missed something?? I've noticed nothing out of the ordinary being locked?
What's the deal with post counts anyway? I wouldn't mind starting @ zero b/c to me it just doesn't matter as long as I can post and help out others. I've been here one year now and I can't believe my post count was up to 2700 something and now its less, mostly all of my posts have been answers to questions and of course a few pics.

Joe I will start at zero if you can make it happen b/c post counts shouldn't matter, well they don't to me anyways.

lol just a few pics

I'm upset about the post count loss but its not the reason for this thread. I'm pissed cause i was doing my normal posting and they were all getting locked and it was keep it tech, and the one where he took one of my posts away lol I lost enough in the crash don't need to take anymore. I understand that its gonna be hard to fix but if it was really that big of a deal to not have a bunch of post up just shut down the forums a couple days till it gets strightened out make it even easier on the moderators. I guess i'm just worried that if i take the time to post in anything it will only get locked anyway cause some jackass has to say *free Post* then theres like 10 guys start talking about losing stuff

EDIT: SORRY VIB DON'T WANT NO HARD FEELINGS OR ANYTHING TOWARDS YOU OR ANYBODY ELSE. yOU GUYS ARE LIKE FAMILY DON'T WANNA PISS ANYBODY OFF

lol seems like i'm out numbered anyway

Hey, no prob. When I say keep it tech you know what I mean. Like mentioned I rarely lock threads unless its spam or for sale threads. I've posted many off topic threads in 6 years. Just want to keep the situation civil.

As I've always seen it, the 94-95 crowd is pretty tight so the "Who's going to FFW?" and "Check out my new potting soil!" threads are typically alright. But as someone said, it's the blatant attempt to up one's post count or downright stupid crap that has been locked down.

I mean if you really want to look into it, 90% of the threads in this forum are not tech related. Instead of being picky about it, I've always felt that the best method is to let the 94-95 stepchildren have their little village free of persecution and just weed out the obvious crap.

As I said in one of the first threads after the site came back up, I don't understand the significance of a high post count.

For those who think that count is of almighty importance Vibe can give em what few I have. Wouldn't bother me at all.

As for keeping things tech, I'm all for that. On the other hand if a few OT threads show up like they have in the past its OK with me also.

All in all, this has been my favorite site and it still is. The loss of threads really doesn't bother me that much.

Whether it be 1 or 1000 posts I still know what little I know and I'll keep trying to help those on this site when I think I've got something of VALUE to offer.

I'm done now, lol.
