I think Stangnet's members are very helpful, generally good people here! I also belong to the motocross forums, specifically 2-stroke forums. There are a lot of helpful people around the country on that forum as well. Jeepforums.com is also very helpful, pretty down to earth people there too. However, I've been looking for a Buick Grand National for a while now (not getting rid of the stang!!!!) so I've been poking around Turbobuick.com for some information on T-types and GN's and let me tell you....Waste Of Time!! The members there are rude, tight-lipped, and unresourceful. I have noticed this even at car shows, the Buick guys give love to only their kind, and only their kind. They even have a section in their forum called "seek and destroy" ( I think that's what it's called) where they talk about their street racing battles, and who and what they've beaten. I do not condone street racing, I think it is safest at the track. I was very turned off by the members there. Also, my best friend's high-mile honda civic was ideling really high 2500rpms+ so we got onto a honda performance forum to get some insight on the problem.....Talk about a bunch of nut-jobs!!! "take your foot off the gas pedal lol" "Fresh Fish" "Sounds like you don't know much huh?" "My civic ex runs 12.50's all motor and doesn't idle that high!" What? What is that about? My point is Stangnet has a group of members that are second to none. You don't know what you have until you check other places out. Great People, Great advice, SWEET Rides, an over-all great platform for talking bout the greatest modern day hot rod, THE MUSTANG!

It all depends on what the moderators will tolerate and if they want it to grow. If the people are rude and not helpful, noobs will go elsewhere and the site will die.
There are other sn-95 sites out there that are helpful to the owners and keep light and the jerks out.

That makes total sense, and I can see how that would happen a lot. On the buick forum I was trying to be honest by mentioning that I am currently looking for a buick, but I guess since I do not own one, they have nothing
to say.

I can tell you, as a retired racer from back in the day, your impression of the GN owners was inherited from those guys that bought the turbo 6 cars from back then. They believed their only real competition was from the Corvette; they couldn't POSSIBLY be matched by a $12,000 Ford. I guess, when you read Road and Track or Motor Trend long enough, that drivel starts to sink in. Granted, the GN is a supreme beast, requiring a Mustangers best effort(and that was frequently not enough). However turbo oil seals burning at 50,000 miles brought it back to reality, and I can remember seeing fewer of them even by the early 90's, racing for $ anyhow. Don't see many driving or racing around Chicago now, and Foxes are everywhere, which is a great lesson. It was fun to watch the little blue puffs as they ran, or on a nice humid 90 degree day, easy pickens. Pompous ain't fast- just don't tell the Vette and GN guys, they think they're the only ones out there.

I went on that forum a LONG time ago when looking into a TType or GN. I didn't post much so I can't comment on the attitudes, but you get them everywhere.

Import forums, all of them: 1. If even half of them were even half as fast as they say they are you would actually see a decent performing import more than once in a blue moon. 2. Ever notice all they talk about is what they are going to do, not what they have done or are doing. 3. According to them, we are the one's running around with nothing but loud exauhst and not going anywere. 4. Ever notice how easily they get fast, or so they claim, but yet you go to the track and see the oppisite? 5. I could go on and on. Yes, groups like the GN's and all, they pay such a premium just for the platform, they think they are something special. Most of these forums are nothing but a bunch of tards ego stroking each other in order to comfort each other from the ass kicking they got from a car 1/4 the price ad 1/4 the modifications.

Even other mustang forums, you get a lot of this. I never liked Corral, and just never got used to other mustang forums. I like Hardcore50 but thats mostly for advanced level racers, which I was approaching at one time. If you want to get into details about engine specs and such, that is the place to go, but the leisure factor of stangnet isn't there.

Stangnet is a nice forum I enjoy going on here. VWVortex is another nice forum if you are into eurotuners. Got out of VW and back into mustangs 2 years ago. No bad experience on this forum at all. Thanks every one
