Start Amperage Draw???

anyone right quick know what the amperage draw is supposed to be on our cars?

related to, ran the batt to trunk and am fusing the wire. got 100 amp on there now and when warm shut car off it blows the 100 amp breaker. Haven't got out the voltmeter yet to trace prob. but pretty sure the grounds are grounded well enough. and I KNOW the pos connections are all done properly.

just wondered if anyone knew. ???

You'll want quite a bit more fuse protection. If all else fails, shoot Loudtoy958 a PM. I recall he used a manually-resettable circuit breaker on his battery cable (for quick disconnects).

In general, 100-200 amps can be required to crank an engine over (depending upon myriad variables, including temps, starter motor condition, etc).

Good luck.

thanks man, yea, thats' what i am running a 100amp circut breaker. i think i'm gonna get out the ohm meter and start testing cold and hot while cranking and find the amperage.. i think its just over a 100 when warm cuz it pops it and if i let it set like 2min and try again it makes it.... :/ blah,
thanks for the reply hissin!
