Alright, I started the car after doing the complete short block swap with h/c/i combo. Obviously I need to fine tune the timing, but it seems I got it close enough for the car to run. However, I had a slight problem of coolant going everywhere. First, it looked like some was coming out of the throttle body of all places. I was afraid something like this would happen, because a coolant input and output line went through the EGR spacer, and now with this darned Cobra intake, there is only an input line. Anyways, I blocked it off and it does not seem to leak from there anymore, though I have no idea how bad it is to block this off.

The more serious coolant leak was coming from something that I don't know what the heck it is. It is actually coming out of the firewall on the passenger side down towards the bottom, right by where the header and H-pipe connect. I have no recollection of what came off of there, but it looks like that is where the coolant is coming from. I thought it might have something to do with the heater core, but I have both lines hooked up to it at the top of the firewall on the passenger side, and I thought it only had one input and output line? Anyways, if someone could tell me what the heck it is, I would appreciate it. It appears to be black in color, surrounded by what looks like foam. Again, it is located right by where the passenger side header and H-pipe connect, so if anyone with a fox were to look there, it should be readily apparent what I am talking about. I would appreciate it if someone could let me know what it is I am missing here, it was quite disconcerting starting my car and seeing plumes of white smoke come from the engine bay. Thanks.

P.S. Otherwise, the car does sound like it will be quite a bit meaner than the 135k stocker that it once was.

The coolant lines going to the throttle body are for cold start up. Not really necessary. And you are heading in the right direction with the heater core. It sounds like to me mabye you broke the heater core somehow putting the engine in.. If it is coming out of there and the lines going to the heater core arent leaking the heater core itself is leaking.

I found that that hole is the heater box evaporator/drain thing. Seems like the heater core is leaking like crazy. It was working fine before, but it probably corroded/rusting from sitting there since June with nothing going through it. I am just going to bypass it for now to get the car running right and replace it next weekend. Minnesota is not a good place to be without a heater core!

And thanks for the info on the egr coolant lines, I will just leave them plugged if they are not needed. I assume then that the output thing on the intake by the TB is actually meant for that line that runs to the charcoal box, so I will hook it up that way.
