starter works pretty slow after the car has been running for awhile. when the engine is cold it starts up fine but if i go to the gas station or somethin it will barely turn. if you work with it long enough it will eventually turn over but it still doesnt seem normal. i just rebuilt the engine and bumped the compression up to somewhere around 10.5:1. i was thinkin its cause the battary is weak and maybe the alternator isnt workin well and even questionin gettin a high torque starter. ive driven it 30 miles in the past 2 weeks since it first started so i cant really eliminate any problems yet but anybody have ideas?

Since you have the extra compression it is going to put more load on your starter. It sounds to me your starter is about to take a dump. That is usally what happens when a starter is about to take a dump.

do you have longtubes too? extra heat and more compressoin are both gonna make that starter not want to turn over the motor.

Your starter is toast man. A lot of times a bad starter will only work when its cool. Thats why when your driving and the starter heats up, it wont work again till you let it cool. REplace it before it really goes bad.

starters gunna die, fix it b4 it leaves you sitten somewhere def. i agree, go with a better starter then stock. you'll like it in the end more then just getting a stock replacement. (somethin dies, just gives an excuse to upgrade it )
