First off thanks to everyone who posted info in my past two threads. All the info you gave was dead on. The Mustang and Fords article just backed up everything you said.

In short everything on my 66 coupe, 302, C4, Small Bell Housing, 157 Tooth Flexplate was all OK. The problem was all with the peice of junk rebuilt starter I pruchased, twice! And from what I understand it is still the correct part number, I even called up the manufacture?

I went to a speed shop and talked to an oldtimer and he sold me a Power Master Mini High Torq starter. Part number 9603 (Ford 289-302-351 A/T & 5-Speed M/T)

Man is it nice to hear that motor crank over quicketly and cleanly.

Again you guys rock! :hail2:
