starter heat soak

The earlier aero fox ones with aftermarket headers can be. Ford went with a smaller starter in about 92 or so.

An aftermarket or 94-95 starter is a nice upgrade if your starter is long in the tooth.

Good luck.

I had a heat soak issue on my 88 when I had that stock starter. If I drove around for a while and then shut my car off it would have a real hard time cranking up again. It almost seemed like the battery was dead. But if i let the car cool down, it was fine. Replaced it with a high torque mini starter and the problems went away.
