ANyone have one handy?

The one i have starts of D9ZE- That's a 1979 part number. I recently sold a '79 4-speed bellhousing and this came with it. I thought it would work until i degreased it today and saw the part numbers.

Can i use this or do i need to get one from an 83-later T-5 bellhousing?

Just did some research on 50resto, where I got mine for my 92, the starter index plate is the same for 79-95 5.0 T5's. Hope that helps.

cool thanks. ANyone else wanna chime in to confirm?

I just want to know if the index plate that was on a 4-spd toploader can can be used.

I dont see why not. The only thing that should be different is the bolt pattern for the tranny, not the motor. Just a guess though....

yeah that's my thought. Bolt pattern on the block is the same.

I'm more concerned about the center hole for the crankshaft. Those early foxes had a 2-piece rear main seal so the size of the hole might be different or something. That's my concern.

My logic tells me it's fine, but i want to be 100% sure ya know
