Problem: My starter stays engaged after the car starts.
Replaced: starter solenoid, starter
Checked: I have power coming from the battery to the solenoid. I checked the power to the little push on wire with a test light. I turned the key and the light turned on. I let go of the key and it turned off. So that should rule out the ignition switch.
After the starter gets stuck, I have to pull the neg batt terminal to get it to stop. After I do this, both sides of the solenoid stay energized. I have to tap the solenoid to release the starter side of the solenoid. It will release and tests fine.
I am at a loss. What will cause the sol to stick once it is energized?
