this could probobly go in talk, but i figured sense it was somewhat tech related i would put it here. I was driving through hartford in my 83, the road i was on was pot-whole city, it was raining prety hard, and there was a puddle spanning the whole with of the road for aabout a 10 foot period. i figured sense it had only been raining about an hour it couldnt be too deep, bad choice
, i get about half way through it and i hit the biggest pot-whole iv ever hit. A gigantic bang thunders from the undercarage of the car smashing into the unforgiving asphault. i pulled over and got out of the car(left it running) looked under, and everything looked fine
i was happy. i get home and park my car, about an hour later i go out to go to work and i start my car up, the most terrible sound screams from the starter, but the car started right up, i shut it down got a creeper, jacke the car up and went under to take a look. BOTH ears on the starter had broken clean off and the starter was sitting in the hole at a 45 degree angle, the terrible sound was it grinding the flywheel at 45degrees, but i was amazed the it still started the car. got a new starter in and it was all good. haha but i still cant believe that the way it was in there it managed to start the car, and without cranking a lot either maybe 2 or 3 times.
