I have an 88Gt and on occasion when I start it the starter won't disengage. It started a few weeks ago and would only happen about 10% of the time and now it happens about 50% of the time. I have replaced the solenoid twice and don't know what else it could be. Could the starter have gone bad?

A less than fully charged battery can cause the solenoid contacts to stick.
When it happens, have you pulled the S-terminal wire off the solenoid to ensure it's not a starter interlock issue? Chances are it is not, but if it is, that's a totally different animal to track down.
