First of all I have to thank slvrbullit302 for telling me it was a bad fuel pump that was causing the problem (see here)

I put in a 255 hp pump sunday with the help of my uncle. The pump does make a faint whinning noise (kinda like a vaccum) but only noticeable when the car is sitting idleing. Other than that it's not as bad as I thought it would be.

Oh, and did I mention my problem is fixed?!! I actually feel like driving my car more now and am confident that it's going to start like it should the first time. I know it's not much to brag about but it's a great feeling for me.

Thanks again slvebullit302!! :nice:

im thinkim my pump might be goin out too. got a good 130k miles on her and still the stock pump. just hate using my money im saving up for other stuff and spending it on other parts

my car ususlly starts fine but always kinda wierd, almost like it doesnt really want to start but barley does, then sometimes it will crank like you said yours id and not start then on the second time i try it will start but really crappy an take a few seconds to crank, maybe my pump is bad too? i always thought if you heard the pump turn on then it was fine but i guess not.

is a 255lph pump fine on a stock motor until i do stuff to it?, i have plans for h/c/i soon. with a 255lph ill have to get a fuel pressure regulator too right?

when you replace the pump the bigger the better cb18201. The larger pumps will support more hp when you mod so you dont have to worry about that later, but they will be fine with whatever you have now also. Your regulator sends any excess fuel back to the fuel tank via the return line so there is no need for any other mods with changing the pump, especially not a adjustable regulator. Lets just say for now with the new pump, you will just have a lot more fuel going through the return line than you did with the stock pump thats all, and that wont hurt anything. I hope that makes sense to you. :nice:
