Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

That would be a very decent cam for that setup. Check this website for good setups for E7 heads. He specializes in E7 heads, and sells a pair of ported E7s for about the cost of a set of regular rebuilt heads.

Steeda #19 or the Crower 15511(if you can find it cheap)

I always wondered how Thumper Heads perform...I thought about going this route but ended up going with edelbrock heads, I am a big fan of stock gt40 heads or E7 heads, but is this package really worth it?

Thumper Heads and Cam combo #1 : Thumper Ported E7s (219/155 cfm)
  • Vassco springs, moley retainers and keepers
  • For cams to .600 lift
  • Double roller timing chain and gear set w/9 position key way
  • FMS "E" ( for AOD cars), "B" , or TFS1 cam
  • Instructions on installation and Cam phasing for the best power and performance for you application
  • Proven 12 sec combination
  • $1090.00 + 100.00 refundable core charge**
  • Any of the above Heads w/Stainless swirl polished under cut, GT40 size valves add: $175.00
1190+175-100core=You do the math If thumper lowers the price a little bit for the holidays or run a special that would be awesome for budget racers!

Porting Heads

Well I was going to do the head work on the car myself, to save cash. Why go to the market for a fish everyday when you can go and fish yourself ? You can buy porting and polishing Kits for 20-30 dollars and one kit will do you one pair of cylinder heads. Im Sure a person could find 2 pairs of stock e7's for very cheap practice on the first and do a good job on the second. Im sure a search for a few hours online would yield some good how to videos. For myself im doing my first set at the same time an experienced friend is doing his. This method has the potential for you to pay off your cylinder heads and you learn a skill, plus more detailed knowledge of your own motor.

I ran the Steeda 19 in my GT, and I liked it.

It idles like the stock cam, and pulls hard from 3000-redline.

Also ran them with some worked E7's(vavle job).

You could also consider the CompCams XE270HR-14.
