I never see anyone on the site with hi flow shorty headers from steeda. They look decent too me, and I am kinda debating between these ones from steeda ($260) or bbk shorty headers ($289). Does anyone have the steeda headers? If so, any noticeable gains? Or any info in general would be great. Thanks a lot.

shorty headers in general dont do much for the 4.6. generally getting L/Ts is better because they produce noticable gains. however if you live in a state like CA shorties are your only option because there arent any legal L/Ts

Pretty much any shorties you get are going to be about the same...the steedas are probably just fine and you'll save a little $

I thought about long tubes, but I am scared of the install, but from my understanding, the shorty installation is not that bad. I cant really afford the installation of the long tube headers. Are there any hp gains from new shorty headers? I mean would it even be worth it?

BBK's new equal length shorty headers are what I would put my money on. They're finally available, and may be the next best alternative to longtubes. Just gotta wait for some track and dyno results.

Equal length shorty headers, is that what you are talking about? If so, those are the ones I was thinking about gettting.

Yeah, those are the BBK ones I'm talking about. I wouldn't do anything else but ceramic or jet-hot coating for headers. Why risk having them rust or something, making you do all that work over again? No thanks.

Thanks for the input man, I think thats what I am gonna go with, now I just have to decide what I am gonna buy first headers and o/r x pipe, or 3.73's and aluminum driveshaft...

I have heard horrer stories about the chrome coming off of shorties after a while due to the heat, so I got the coated ones, but I haven't dropped the cash for the install because I have not seen anyone post any gains.. I know that you would have to pick up at least 4-7+ RWHP, is that worth $200-$300 for install? I don't know, but when you have to tangle with F-bodies, we take what we can get right???

I really haven't heard any positive things about shorty headers for the 4.6L. But if you go up to the Review tab on top of the mustangnet page and look under exhaust there are a few reviews on BBK shorty headers as well as some others. Plus I heard don't know yet that underdrive pulleys give you more hp gains than shorties. A lot of people say its better to save up for LT's or supercharge which is a lot of saving. Other than that stick with the basics like pulleys its cheaper hope that helps.
