I have mine set at 14 degrees. Most go with 14-16 degrees.

Remember to run 93 Octane fuel.

set it at 15 or 16 to start since it is about 1 degree off and use 93 fuel it it pings at back it off to 15

I started with mine set at 14, than bumped to 15, now its at 16*. I never run anything but 93 octane. So far so good I havent noticed anything that seems like detonation. A ford mechanic told me to reset the computer each time you adjust it otherwise the computer will adjust itself to the stock timing, not sure if its true or not but it cant hurt.
