My shifter has been rattling when I get on it. If I hold it, it stops. It's not loose or slopy. I have a T-45 and it hasn't been beat on. Anyone have this issue?

Yeah thought about checking that, but I don't that's it. I used studs in the tranny and blue loc-tight on the nuts. Thanks

Now thats funny I have had mine on the car for nearly 2 yrs and never had that problem, but I did seal it with "The Right Stuff" sealant so it locks the bolts in good.

You can acquire some gasket material and create your own isolator to install between the shifter handle and the shifter rod. Maybe you've already tried that.

Yeah I've done that, it's not gear noise. It reminds me of my first car, a 73 Toyota Hilux pickup. There was a plastic cup that fit on the ball of the shift lever that fits inside the tranny linkage rod. It would wear out and the shifter would make noise. This is not a loose knob or lever, hopefully it's not something inside the tranny.

Is the noise getting worse?
If so its internal.

I should have mentioned it doesn't do it when it's cold, but as it warms up, yes it gets worse. It come and goes. It does clatter while idling in nutrel with the clutch out. When I put in the 4V and started the engine for the first time, I let the car idle with the front end elevated (pretty hi) so I could purge the air out of the cooling system. I heard this clacking sound and thought it was the engine, but it was the tranny, like it starved the input bearing of oil. When I put the car flat it didn't make the noise again. Maybe I fried something in the tranny. I wouldn't think that having the front end elevated would do this. Time for a six speed I guess. Car only has 21K miles.

I have Royal Purple ATF Dexron III, with only 2K miles on it. I thought you couldn't use Synchromesh in a T-45?? No throw-out bearing noise, it's pretty new, about 3K miles on it. Put a new one in along with a clutch when I swapped the 01 Cobra motor.

I had noise and vibrations too. It was just too annoying.
I mounted all the stock boots, my stock shift lever to my Triax base, with my Steeda pistol grip and it's as quiet as can be.
