I installed Steeda underdrive pulleys on my '02 GT. 6 months later they are rusting and the black is peeling! They look like hell! Anyone else have this problem?? Thanks

NO, mine are fine. Do you do an undercarraige wash in the winter? I would guess that it could be from the salt on the roads in NJ.

I would post pics, but I don't have a camera. Basically the center or the crank pulley started peeling and rusting. Then the other day when I was cleaning my engine bay, I went to wipe off the dust on my alternator pulley (On the inside lip where the bolt is) and all the black crumbled off! The water pump pulley is OK. But the crank and alt. pulley look like they are 10 years old! Can I take them off and repaint, powdercoat them? Should I call Steeda and bitch? Any ideas? Thanks

How do you do that? With a garden hose? Car on or off? cover electrical stuff?
Do you guys like your underdrive pullies? I was debating on getting them or using the money for other mods.

Get the pulleys! You will feel the difference. I would see if Steeda will do something about the pulley's and if they don't take them off and sand and paint them.

Oh I forgot to help you out with your prob. Try taking them off and sandblasting them and repainting them or since they are aluminum have them powder coated or anodized. The powder caoting and/or the anodizing would hold up the best.

The pulley's are steel. I guess they are painted. They could have powdercoated them or something! Other than thm peeling, I'm very happy with them.
