Thanks,68 & 00 GT said:The stock shifter has bushings in it to quieten the transmission noise. Makes that shifter more sloppy though. Mine is not bad. You may try to put some rubber between the handle where it bolts togeter. The metel to metal right there probably causes part of the noise.

a 1/4" piece??? you probably could have used something as thick as a bicycle inner tube. Something just thick enough to separate the two pieces of metal. I would figure that with a piece of rubber that thick you would end up getting more slop from the flexibilty of that much rubber. If you don't like the way it feels after a week, you might want to try something thinner.
