Been thinking about picking up a set of standard 15" steel wheels for my stang. Was wondering if anyone had any specs so I can go either foraging in the junkyard, or the Pomona Swap Meet???

TIA

Brad

EDIT: forgot to mention, they'll need to clear Wilwoods in the front.

15"x7" small Ford bolt circle are the most commonly used 15" wheels. These were used on Lincolns and Ford stationwagons and can be found in salvage yards specializing in late '70's, early '80's cars. Using these on some early Mustangs ('65/'66) may present a problem with UCA clearance. Try these before buying an expensive set of wheels. I have these all around on my '65 Mustang. They fit well in back but are a tight fit on the fronts.

Thanks for the info. I am wondering if these will clear the Wilwoods in front?

I ran a set of Dodge police car steel wheels on my 67 back in the 80's with four wheel discs ( 71-73 Stang front, Versailles rear) they were also 15X7 and fit fine. Watch out though , some of the full size Lincolns and Fords ( 70's cars) had a 5x5 bolt pattern. Seven inch wide are harder to come by too on Fords, 6" widths were the most common.

I would think the 15" wheels would clear without a problem. You need the 5 x 4 1/2" lug pattern, with a 3 3/4" to 4 1/2" offset. Get a cheap $5 rim to verify the fit, then pick up the rest of the wheels. Any tire shop should be able to check it for you, as well.
