steering and spindle question

bored at work and mulling over an idea in my head. Would it be possible to use sn95 spindles along with a front steer rack? Factory Five racing sells an adapter to use the spindle with an upper ball joint. I am shoehorning in a 4.6 dohc and can use the stock rear sump pan for clearance.

I haven't really looked into this and thus have no clue as to steering or suspension geometry with this setup, but it would make brakes upgrades and steering a breeze if possible.

well yeah, I knew that much. I was just curious about the feasability of the setup on a 69 mustang. Clearances, geometry, etc. I think i'm just going to give it a whirl... at least pick up a set of spindles and see how they fit with the adapter.

the only issue i fore see is getting the right rack. think the later fox body and the sn95 racks are about right for your car. you might also look at mustang ll racks as well.

Jason,

i am thinking of doing the same with my 70 mach 1. I am not planning on cuting towers so i figured i do the K-memeber and remove the engine mounts. Any progress on this on your end?

If thats a real Mach 1 then do not do this to it PLEASE !

There are plenty of sports roofs out there that were not Machs or Bosses.

it is a real mach, but not planning on cutting towers or mounts. Thinking of doing a new bolt in K but leaving factory mounts. Also considering Fatman's strut system which bolts on. No cutting. The rear has a gbar, so those old leafs are gone. Otherwise, trying to keep is stock looking with modern upgrades...like 408 efi!

Not much... got a set of spindles, the adapters from factory 5, and the coilover kit, but still have a ways to go before they are all installed. I only get to work on the car every couple weekends or so. I'll post when I try it out.
