steering column swap

can i install a 1986gt steering column in my 1990 lx. i know it will bolt up but is the harness plug the same. i dont want to splice anything. if its any help i dont have cruise control.

I have many 87-93 columns. I don't have an 86 to look at, but yes it will bolt up. The harness will be different, but I don't see why you couldn't take your blinker switches and ignition switch off the newer column and install those on the 86 column.
