steering column ??

My wheel had a lot of play in it so I took it apart as best I could without a wheel puller and I can see there is a bearing in the very top that is worn out. Anyone know if this bearing can be replaced on its own or is it just easier to replace the whole column???

a colum is expensive so i would replace that bering if possible

I didn't see a model year so I can't be specific, but call your Ford dealer and tell them you need a -3517- for your column.

Ease of replacement depends on the method used to keep the bearing in place. Is it pressed in, staked, or does a snap ring secure it? If it's pressed, you probably could replace. Snap ring would be a snap. But, if its staked you will most likely have to replace the column. Sorry I didn't offer much help, I have yet to see a fox body column.

It's an 87 and I believe it was held in by a snap ring. thanks for the part #
