steering: I6 to v8 problem

Well we tried to turn the steering wheel today and the idler arms, I think thats what it was, hit the headers. These are still from the I6. Will v8 linkage bring them out longer so that they don't hit the headers?

I cant really picture youre clearence issues in my head, basically if you ran a 6" bolt down through the hole (not mounting holes) of your i6 idler arm you would have a v-8 idler arm. Hope this helps.

yes.
the V8 is completly different than the I6.
unless you have an unusual header it will provide adequate clearance. for safety sake you should never have I6 steering or suspension or brakes when converting to a V8. when making the change you need the spindles, tierods (inner outer and sleeve) centerlink, idler arm, and pitman arm.

its a 65 but I'll look up to getting those parts. I haven't driven it yet we where just checking clearance. It still up on jack stands right now.
