Steering Noise

i would check the tie rods and rack bushings. if no go, check other dynamic items like ball joints and anti-sway bushings/end links.

good luck.

It could be anything from the steering shaft to the strut mounts. You can use a stephescope or a long extention held to your ear and that will help pinpoint the problem. One of those things that's hard to dianose over the net.

good call Jason - forgot about rag joints, etc upstream.

FWIW, ive seen rag joints load up - you can hear/feel them real well when the car is off and there is no assist. very good suggestion by 90MustangGT.

Jason - you dont have your ESP/X-ray-vision scope with you? I thought all you professional mechanics had those. :)
Seriously, Glad to see you back here. :nice:

Thanks, It's good to be back. Thanks for the compliments. I had problems with the internet, so I gave up for a while. The internet is getting like so many other things, how did we do without it? All I really do is come on this site but I'm becoming such a hermit it's my only outlet. It's good to see you still at it here on stangnet as well!!!
