This was one of those weekends. My car faught me every single step of the way. Anyway, after my car kicked my a$$ for about 8 hours I said "I'll do something quick and easy, install the rack limiters in preperation for my 18x9 wheels." Needless to say, I couldn't figure out how to get the bellows off so I could install the limiters. There is a metal band that holds the boot and I have no idea how to get the larger end of the boot to slide on the rack so I can install the limiters. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Use a pair of dykes and cut the "bump" off where it is crimped together from the factory. Then use use a hose clamp or a zip tie to reconnect the boot. That's how I've always done inner tie rods. Easy enough. You can't reuse the stock band unless you have the crimping tool to recrimp it, and prying it to get it loose is a pain.. so just cut the mofugger off.

When I did mine I bought a new tie rod boot kit and it came with a new band in it for you to crimp. In the service manual it actually shows something similar to a hose clamp in that spot, but they must have done away with them for cost reasons.
