So now that the little blue coupe is up again, just how many variations of steering racks are there for these cars.

I will list the issues I have found with three Foxes since 81. One rebuilt rack came with outer tie rods that were too long for a Mustang, probably for a tbird. I had to buy a tap and thread the outer tie rod ends deeper. Couple racks later I got a round input shaft to replace a D shaped input. Luckily I had an extra round rag joint., Several variations of hose sizes iirc.
Latest issue was the mounting bolt and bushing setup is different on the 89, it has rolled pin style locating dowels vice the bolt centered bushings. Had to use the old one.

What else varies on these things!

Luck of the draw with rebuilt stuff...especially when people buy racks not originally meant for their vehicle and return the incorrect original as core.

Case in point, the now rare SPR-ZM rack

So what rack has everyone ended up with, the sport rack or the basic?

For my four cylinder, there were no rebuilt standard racks at Autozone, only a new one. So I went with a sport rack from Orileys. Not sure my ps pump likes it.
