My steering wheel has developed alot of play in it. I can grab the wheel and feel the shaft inside the column move loosely up and down and side to side. Is there a bearing or bushing inside the column that prevents this sort of play? Hard to replace?
Yes there is a little plastic bushing that keeps the column centered on the shaft. Take of the steering wheel nut, pull the wheel, and it sits under there.
