Steering Wheel Help...

Hey, anyone use a Grant Woodgrain Classic Steering Wheel with the Classic Horn Button, the one with the pony logo on it?

I ask because I bought my car with that combo already installed and the horn button fell off yesterday. I've looked at the installation instructions from Grant, and from what I can tell the horn button is supposed to twist on while pushing on it. Well mine was glued on and I can't figure out if something was broken and thats why it was glued or if I'm missing how it's supposed to be installed.

Please help!

the horn button on most grant wheels is prone to falling off. i have had several, and all but one has fallen off. they also have weak return springs as well. not much you can do except replace the wheel install kit with one from another company and adapt the steering wheel to the new kit.

Well I can glue it back on like it was before but I really don't think thats how it's designed to be attached. I mean how do you remove it to remove the steering wheel if its glued on? You'd have to break the glue bond!

Use some silicone. Clear. Only as much as you need to hold it inn place....that stuff is wonderful. I used it to reattach the wood trim to the dash of my 240-D.

The Grant horn button has been a falling-off POS since I was in high school, when Nixon was president. They have not improved the quality of the horn or the poor wood workmanship since then. If you want some thing nicer than OEM, get one of these:

In my opinion Grant steering wheels are just generic cheapo steering wheels. I'll never buy one. On that particular wheel the horn arcs and I won't have anything to do with it. I have know a few people that had the one and they all hate it.
