Steering wheel shakes when brake is applied

LOL i'm having the same problem.. I have changed the rotors<< No fix, changed the caliper <<< no fix. So now I'm changing the bearings and hub assembly. i'll see how that goes....
last thing left will be the spindle or proportioning valve..

they most likely just need turned. mine does this a bit. I have 61k but it has been doing it since 50 something.

the stock rotors are nothign special. A shop can tell you if they need turned or are too far out and need to be replaced.

short story long you need to do front brake work to get it to go away. doing a bit of brake work at 50k is nothing major. would take no more than 1hr of work to fix.

as for waranty that runs out at 35 or 36k. they would proably waranty a warped rotor at that but at 50k you are the waranty unless there is some kind of recall.

as for the rears they are proably still just fine. fronts do 70% or so of the work so if on a budget I would look at them but not just imidiatly replace them.

Before you go totally crazy, I suggest that you first double-check your wheel balance on the fronts. I've seen that a very slight error in balance can go unnoticed until you hit the brakes.

good point here. take care of the cheap and obvious first.

bearins and spindle problems should be present without brakes so I don't think that will be it.

I had the same problem.......changed everything I thought. A friend of mine said change the control arm bushing. So I installed '03 cobra control arms......Poof! fixed. Who would have thought.

I installed those control arms and could feel a big difference in turning. A nice upgrade.:nice:
