still throwing the cel with o/r x pipe

i have a 98 gt with a bassani o/r x pipe.
the car has O2 simulators but after 2-4hrs of clearing the code,it comes back.why is that?
will my car not run as good as usual with the cel on?
will mil eliminators fix this prob or what?

what code is it throwing? upstream or down stream sensors? mils will only help you with the rears. If its the upstream ones i could be a number of things: maybe dirty or bad sensor, exhaust leak (maybe from passenger gasket or bad seal) Gotta watch that passenger side.

i think it is po133 for the upstream (one of them at least). Po 170something for the downstreams i think. check the sticky for sure. Autozone should pull them for free for ya.

oh, it should not negatively affect the car too much, I think it might mess with setting your timing back a little or something, not sure. It does annoy the hell out of you though doesnt it?

its coming up on the computer as the rear sensors[the ones i have the O2 simulators connected to].yes its very aggrevating thats why i'm trying to get it fixed asap!

hey I had the same problem, then I replaced the rear o2's havent had a problem since

hey, i know this is old, just figured it out. check the sensor plug, is it free to dangle? if so, wire it tight to soemthing up in there so it stays put and that will solve your problem. at least it did for me.

ok first thing is check too see if the conncetions from the mils too the rear o2's is clean.. if so plug it in and as another member said make sure it's tight and not goign too get damaged. if none of that works get new mil elims or turn off the rear sensors wih a hand held programmer.
